The Agency of Francophone Universities (AUF) in the Asia-Pacific region organised a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on March 23 to present prizes to winners of the annual writing contest entitled "Travelling in the Francophone Community".

Huynh Long Thanh Van, a student from Le Hong Phong senior high school in Ho Chi Minh City, won the first prize for the 12-18 age group, while Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, a student from the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, secured the first prize for the 18-21 age group.

This year's contest, which honoured Leopold Sedar Senghor, the late Senegalese President and well-known politician in the Francophone community, drew around 500 contestants from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

On this occasion, the AUF handed over awards to 13 students of the national French language team and eight outstanding students from bilingual classes.
