Set in the oldest bar in Hanoi-Le Club Bar at the Sofitel Metropole Hanoi-the glamorous singer’s performance will take audiences back in time with a repertoire of classic jazz from the 1920s and 1930s.
Influenced by legendary signers Billie Holiday and Anita Day, Cambours has developed her native swing music style for almost 30 years. The singer, who first started singing when she was a little girl, has presented her talent through various forms, as a dancer, model, and theatre and movie actress.
In 2002, Nadia recorded a number of swing-standard songs for her Honeysuckle Rose album. In December 2006, she joined the Saint-Louis Big Band to present a classical jazz repertoire reflecting the 1920s and 30s period with many famous singers like Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway and Fletcher Henderson.
Nadia arrived in Hanoi from the famous Bilbao jazz festival in Spain last week, where she was accompanied by the Tuxedo Big Band.
The charismatic singer is no stranger to Asia, having joined the Hennessy XO Jazz Tour with the Olivier Smith Jazz Band to perform in several big cities including Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Taiwan, Marrakech and Casablanca last year.
Nadia Cambours will bring her velvety voice to Le Club Bar in Hanoi every Tuesday to Sunday night until October 22. Last year, she also performed in the capital.
