Classic music lovers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be treated to a special concert on May 9-10 by French orchestra Stradivaria playing Mozart’s pieces.

The programme will include one unpublished work by the musical icon.

The first half will feature Divertimento KV 137 and Divertimento KV 138. After the interval, the orchestra will play Quatour KV 137 and Divertimento KV 136.

Stradivaria was the brain child of Daniel Cuiller, who in 1987 decided to set up an orchestra that specialises in Baroque music from the 17th century. The musicians make a point of putting rare scores under the spotlight.

The group get their name from the famous Stradivarius violin which is closely related to the Baroque period. The musicians often choose pieces written for stringed instruments.

Though Baroque is the overriding theme, Stradivaria often branch out to perform music from the Romantic and Classical eras. They have performed more than 40 concerts all over the world and are currently on a tour of Asia
