Thirty movies from Vietnam and other Francophone countries are being screened at a film festival that opened in Hanoi on March 24.

Director Dao Duy Phuc’s “Sinh Menh” (Life) film is the only Vietnamese one in the Francophone Film Festival, which is held to celebrate Francophone Day (March 20).

Three films from Canada include an animation piece “Afforestation,” a documentary called “Man Brings Water to Village” and feature film “The Last Hunter”, all focused on the environment.

France has two films, a documentary called “Emigrant Birds” and a feature film called “Emperor’s Steps”.

The festival will last until April 4.
