Directors and more than 100 scientists and educators of Beijing University, Seoul National University, the University of Tokyo and Hanoi National University attended the 8th annual forum of the four representative East Asian universities (BESETOHA) in Hanoi on November 3.
Addressing the forum, Vice State President Truong My Hoa said the presence of Hanoi National University at the forum is an acknowledgement of leading tertiary educational establishments in East Asia for Vietnam's tertiary education.
Directors of the four universities delivered reports on cultural diversification and sustainable development and the role of university education. They shared the view that East Asia is a region with long-standing cultures and traditions and humane values that will enhance the quality of university education in the context of globalisation and international integration.
They then signed the Hanoi Joint Statement underscoring the need to organise the annual forum and specific seminars.
