Twenty nine foreign art troupes have so far registered to take part in the Hue Festival 2008 from June 3-11.

France will be represented by art troupes from Poitou-Charentes region and the Archipel Indigo dramatic group, India by the Rajasthan folk troupe, Cambodia by the Apsara Royal art troupe, and Japan by the Ryukyuan-Okinawa traditional dance team.

The Hue Festival 2008 will be held in the former imperial city of Hue under the theme "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development" to showcase the cultural values of Hue and Vietnam through hundreds of traditional art performances in special programmes and a sculpture camp.

The Hue festival 2008 will also reorganise an "enthronement" ceremony for King Quang Trung to mark the 220th anniversary of the event.
