Eight football teams of disadvantaged children have registered to take part in a football tournament which will kick off in Ho Chi Minh City on June 1.
The event, the 13th of its kind so far, is part of activities to mark International Children’s Day (June 1).
Competitors from HCM City, Hanoi, Danang, Gia Lai, Dong Nai, Long An and An Giang will engage in a round robin format and the best four teams will enter the semi-finals.
The winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of VND30 million, while the first and second runners-up will get VND25 million and VND20 million, respectively.
The organizing board will cover travel costs, accommodation and daily expenses for participants.
