The first Tea Culture Festival will take place in Da Lat city, the Central Highland province of Lam Dong from December 21-24. On display at the festival will be 35 famous tea trademarks from Thai Nguyen, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Son La, Nghe An, Hanoi and Lam Dong.

Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on November 10, the first deputy chairman of the Vietnam Tea Association, Nguyen Van Thu affirmed that the festival is not only a cultural event but also an economic and tourism event. It offers opportunities for Vietnamese tea enterprises to promote their brands and advantages in producing, processing and exporting tea.


Visitors will have a chance to learn about the art of making tea and enjoy 200 tea sets from Vietnam, China, the Republic of Korea and Japan and an unique collection by artisan Mong Dong Vu who is also director of the Thai Nguyen Culture and Information Centre.


Major activities will be held at the festival including an exhibition introducing tea culture, a parade to promote tea brands, and competitions relating to tea culture and tourism.
