The badminton team have won the first medal for Vietnam at the ongoing ASEAN Para Games in Indonesia.
The bronze medal was bagged by the men’s badminton team that included Vo Minh Hai, Le Van, Pham Hong Tuan and Nguyen Van Tai who defeated Thai rivals 2-0 in the opening match on December 15.
In the table tennis event, male players Yen and Chi, and female players Binh and Xiem are competing for bronze medals, while in the mixed double event, Phu and Tram are also expected to touch bronze.
On December 16, Vietnamese athletes continued competing in badminton and volleyball events.
The weight-lifting event was scheduled for December 17.
