The “superman acrobat” performance given by 8 artists from the Vietnamese Circus Federation (VCF) has won a gold medal at the 3rd International Circus Festival in Albacete, Spain, from February 14-25.  

VCF Director Vu Ngoan Hop revealed on March 1 that only the Vietnamese and Mongolian troupes had won gold meads in the festival.

The International Circus Festival is an annual and prestigous event. This year’s festival attracted more than 80 excellent artists from 15 countries and territories.

The Vietnamese performance was highly praised by the festival’s jury not only for its technique but also for the eminent style, highlighting the country’s unique cultural identity.

“Super Acrobat” is an acrobatic performance by 8 young artists at a height of 15-18m with the largest swing space of 13m.

The group of young artists practiced this performance upto the end of 2007 and completed it in September 2008. This was the first time they has attended an international festival.

This is the highest award obtained by Vietnamese artists in the international festival competitions in recent years. They were also selected as the favourite troupe, as voted by 10,000 spectators.
