The first festival for Vietnamese students and alumni held at the Hanoi National University on January 6 became a bridge between Vietnamese students and those studying overseas.

The festival was held by the Vietnam Student Union Central Committee, in cooperation with Tri Tri Join-stock company and Big Heart Volunteer group.

The programme drew a large numbers of students into a lot of activities such as exchange, forum, study consultancy, music performance and fashion show. The forum “What will we do for the nation?” impressed employers and alumni with many interesting questions.

Phan Dang Dung, who had studied for five years in Australia, said Vietnamese students should actively and confidently adapt to a new studying environment overseas. They should also consider studying abroad as a chance to learn the best things for the country, not a chance to have a new life.

The festival was part of activities to mark the 57th anniversary of Vietnam Student Day (January 9).
