Fencers win gold at regional championships
Vietnam has pocketed five gold medals after the second day of competition at the ongoing Southeast Asia Fencing Federation Championships in Malaysia.
Olympian Nguyen Tien Nhat won in the men’s individual epee event and Tran Thi Len won in the women’s individual epee pool on Sunday.
Earlier on January 18, they topped in the women’s individual foil, women’s individual sabre and men’s individual sabre categories.
Vietnam has also bagged two silvers and one bronze.
The tournament will end on January 27.
The junior Vietnamese fencers will take part in the under-20 and under-27 tournaments, also in Kuala Lumpur.
