The Hoa Sua Training School, which trains students who are disadvantaged, and who may also suffer a disability, will hold a fashion parade at 5 pm in Hanoi’s Melia Hotel in Ly Thuong Kiet Street on September 23.

The show will allow students to exhibit the skills they have gained from successful training courses which give them the opportunity to enter the paid workforce on an equal footing with their more advantaged peers.

Hoa Sua has been operating since 1995, housing, training and supporting many young people in the areas of hospitality and needlework. A volunteer trainer, Brigitte Euverte, a retired volunteer (AGIR abcd, Paris, France), said, “It has been a privilege to work with these young people for the past six months, building up their skill level and confidence as they become adept at pattern-making, cutting, sewing, finishing and fitting.”

Hoa Sua operates an Embroidery, Sewing and Tailoring Shop at 21D Ha Hoi Street, two bakeries: Café Smile at 5 Van Mieu St and Croissant at 35 Quang Trung Str, Hanoi as well as Baguette & Chocolat in Thac Bac St, Sapa in northern Lao Cai province. Since its inception, Hoa Sua has trained more than 3 000 young people, many of whom have gained employment in world-class establishments.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
