A farmer from southern Ben Tre province Nguyen Van Tu has donated a 50-kg jar of ancient coins to the provincial museum.
The coins dating from many Vietnamese dynasties such as the Ly, Tran, Ho and Mac, were unearthed while he was digging a fishpond.
This was the second time Mr Tu discovered a large volume of ancient coins. He had previously donated 70 kg of ancient coins to the local museum.
