To mark the 200th anniversary of the birthday of Polish composer Frederic Chopin and his own 30 years as a performer, the Vietnamese people’s artist, Dang Thai Son, will play at the Techcombank Concert in Ho Chi Minh City on January 26.
It has been 10 years since he last returned to the city. The concert is co-organised by the Hanoi National Conservatory of Music, the Champion Vietnam Company and the Technical and Commercial Joint-Stock Bank (Techcombank).
Known as one of the world’s leading pianists, Son is the first Asian artist to win the first prize at the 10th International Federic Chopin Piano Competition.
The concert is also the opening event for Chopin Year 2010 around the world and offers an excellent chance for music lovers to enjoy the composer’s masterpieces.
