A photo and painting exhibition of Vietnamese traditional culture opened in Paris’ southern suburb of Chevily Larue on November 12, attracting many overseas Vietnamese people and French friends.

The exhibition is part of the International Unity Week organised by the Chevilly Larue City Council and the Chevilly Larue-Yen Bai Friendship Association.

On display are 34 oil paintings by Vuong Thien Loc - an overseas Vietnamese who has many times visited the homeland, and dozens of colour photos about Vietnam, its beautiful scenery, handicrafts, daily utensils and traditional costumes. All these were collected by French friends after their business trips and visits to Vietnam.

Chevilly Larue vice mayor Daniele Laureaux, who initiated the event, said the exhibition is aimed at making visitors have a better understanding of Vietnam and its traditional cultural values which have been well preserved in Vietnam.

Through paintings and photos, visitors will realise that Vietnam is not only beautiful but also a strongly developing and renewed country.
