Exhibition of Vietnam-RoK modern fine arts

(VOV) -Modern arts from Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) are currently on show at the Han Hyang Lim Museum in Paju, RoK, from May 11-26.

The event, jointly held by the RoK Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnamese embassy in the RoK, showcases paintings by five Vietnamese artists, including Luong Xuan Doan, Le Van Thin, Doan Hong, Nguyen Van Cuong and Nguyen The Duy, as well as Korean artists Oh Kyung-hwan and Huh Dal-jae.

The mayor of Paju, Lee In-jae, said the exhibition, held for the first time in the border city, is an initial step towards other art and cultural exchanges between the two countries in the future.

Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Trong Toan praised the event, saying that it is very significant after the 2012 Vietnam-RoK Friendship Year celebrations that marked the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

All the paintings in the exhibition will be presented to the Asian Culture Complex, which is being constructed in the central RoK city of Gwangju.
