An exhibition featuring the distinctive cultural characteristics of Cong Chieng (gongs) in the community of Vietnam ethnic groups opened in Buon Ma Thuot city in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak on November 19.

The exhibition introduced the Dong Son Culture dating back 3,000 years and displayed copper musical instruments. It also featured gong culture of ethnic groups in the northern region, gong performances by ethnic groups in Truong Son Mountain Range and Central Highland region, as well as gong culture of Khmer and ethnic Chinese people in the southern region.

 

The exhibition aims to introduce and honour the tangible and intangible cultural life of ethnic Vietnamese groups, especially the cultural values of 17 ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.

The event will last until November 30.
