Flowers, parallel sentences (Cau Doi) and wine - three typical products for the traditional Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) - are being displayed at an exhibition, which opened at the Vietnam Arts and Culture Exhibition Centre in Hanoi on February 9.

Hundreds of parallel sentences are exhibited, including those writen by King Le Thanh Tong and female poet Ho Xuan Huong. In addition, calligraphy artworks by two famous artist Trinh Tuan from Hanoi and Dzu Kha from Binh Dinh were also introduced.

 

In particular, on display is a model of a more than 100-year old house in Hang Than Street with decorations of a traditional family altar.

 

Various types of wine from different regions are exhibited, including wine of the Dao ethnic minority group from Yen Bai province, Voc village’s wine from Ha Nam province, Truong Xa wine from Hung Yen province, Phu Loc sticky rice wine from Hai Duong province, Pho hamlet’s wine from Lao Cai province, Van village’s wine from Bac Giang province, Bo Nam corn wine in Bac Kan province and Dai Lam wine from Bac Ninh province.

 

At the exhibition, many activities are on offer, including art performances, folk games, a wine invitation ritual and human chess.
