The Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam in coordination with EU member state embassies and cultural centres will organize a series of cultural and intellectual exchange events to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of Rome Treaties, which established the European Union

The programme will start on March 16 with a discussion on the history of the Treaties of Rome. Prof. Henri Menudier from the Sorbonne 2 University and the ambassadors of the six original signatory countries, namely Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, will attend the event.

Some other activities in the programme will be the European Gala Evening at the Hanoi Opera House on March 23 and 24, which features some best compositions and repertoire of opera arias from Europe, the screening of the renowned film One Day in Europe, and a Belgian-French cartoon exhibition.

Following the EU’s 50th anniversary, the Delegation of the European Commission to Vietnam will also launch the traditional "Europe Days" cycle in late April
