Ambassador Sean Doyle said that the Day aims to review close ties between the EU and countries from around the world, including Vietnam.

Minister Hoang thanked EC and EU member countries for their support in Vietnam’s socio-economic development and international integration. Both host and guests agreed there would be continued development of Vietnam-EU ties.

Europe Day marks the anniversary of the day in 1950, when French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman gave a speech calling for European countries to combine their coal and steel production under a single European institution, paving the way for the European Union.
