The valuable and unique cultural characteristics of the 54 ethnic groups have enriched the Vietnamese culture and fortified the national unity bloc's inner strength.
The statement was made by To Huy Rua, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for Information and Education at the fourth national congress of the Ethnic Minority Artists and Writers Association, which took place in Hanoi on December 9 and 10.
Mr.Rua asked the association to outline a training programme for ethnic minority writers, artists, researchers, and critics to enable them to produce artistic and literacy works of national identity.
450 ethnic minority writers and artists throughout Vietnam who attended the congress elected an 18-member leadership with Tay ethnic musician Nong Quoc Binh as President of the Association for the 2008-2012 term.
