Over 500 artists representing 29 ethnic minority groups took part in the Ethnic Cultural Festival 2008 in Gia Nghia district, central highland Dak Nong province from March 23-27
Many genres of the traditional arts of ethnic minorities such as M’Nong, Ede, Ma, Stieng, Tay, Nung, Khome and Mong were exhibited and ethnic sports competitions also took place.
The festival aims at promoting cultural exchange among ethnic minority groups to build prosperous lives.
Dak Nong province organizes cultural festivals almost every year. It has also invested billions of VND in building a communal house, conserving Gong culture, collecting and doing research on M’Nong epics as well as introducing Gong culture into the teaching programmes of ethnic boarding schools.
