At a meeting on November 14, Ambassador Ngo Anh Dung congratulated them for having finished the first phase of the 5,000km journey from Vietnam to Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.

During two months they have chances to exchange with local people as well as Vietnamese residents in those countries.

After leaving Phnom Penh, the elderly people will head to Pakse, Laos.

Earlier in 2010 they engaged in a 3,000km trans-Viet bicycle tour.
