Based on real characters, the 30-minute film, shot in Vietnam by Cuban director Guillermo Centeno, illustrates the image of a heroic Vietnamese nation after the war, the horrific consequences of Agent Orange/Dioxin as well as Vietnamese people’ feelings and love for their family and fallen compatriots.
It also highlights the faithful friendship between Vietnamese people who studied, worked and lived in Cuba and Cuban people who sheltered and supported Vietnamese friends in their country.
According to the director of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC), Manuel Perez, the film will help Cuban people gain a better understanding of Vietnamese people and their hardships during the war and its devastating consequences.
The film was screened at the Riviera Theatre in the Cuban capital of Havana on Feb. 19.
