A special documentary film on the legendary Mekong named “Sharing a river” made its debut in Hanoi on March 28.

The film will be simultaneously broadcast in early April on all the national televisions of six co-producing countries, including China, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, which share the river.

Later, the film will be broadcast in English worldwide.

In Vietnam, the Vietnam Television VTV1 will screen the film on every Monday and Friday nights.

The 20-episode documentary film provides a systematic overview of the traditional cultural characteristics as well as the rich natural resources of the countries lying along the Mekong river.

The film was made in three years, from 2005 to 2007, at a cost of US$2 million.
