More than 20 lacquer paintings by street children in Ho Chi Minh City are on display at an exhibition in London.

The exhibition is organised by the Christina Noble Foundation from March 27 to April 3.

The works reflect the children’s love of nature and optimistic feelings towards life despite their disadvantaged plight.

One hour after the exhibition opened, four of the paintings were sold for US$1,500.

Kate Greer, Director of Christina Noble Foundation UK said that money collected from the sale of the paintings will go to the foundation’s music and painting project in Vietnam.

After 17 years of operation, Christina Noble Foundation has carried out 70 projects in Vietnam, benefiting over 500,000 local street children.
