About 2,000 Overseas Vietnamese children in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand will also have the chance to join the festival sponsored by Lua Viet company and kind-hearted people.

Each child will receive a moon cake and a lantern and take part in entertainment programmes and exchanges.

Meanwhile, healthcare workers from HCM City will provide free medical check-ups and medicine for children in remote areas. Earlier, more than 200 disabled children in HCM City enjoyed a water puppet show, received gifts and participated in an entertainment programme as part of activities to welcome the 2007 Mid-Autumn Festival.
