The event is part of the activities to mark the United Nations International Day for Persons with Disabilities (December 3) and an action month for children.
More than 400 disabled students from across the country are expected to participate in the festival’s six sporting events. They will compete in two age groups, under 13 and between 14-16, for 56 sets of medals in chess, athletics, tug-of-war, football, badminton and table tennis.
Competitors will also enjoy music and dance performances and visit a number of scenic and historical sites in Thai Binh province.
The biannual festival aims to allow students with disabilities to meet, exchange experiences and improve their physical health, thereby enabling them to better integrate into the community.
