The Embassy of Denmark will give Vietnam US$17,000 to support a cultural information website for young people in Vietnam.

The funding will help the site www.hanoigrapevine.com, set up in 2007 by Canadian artist Brian Ring, expand its services for two years.

Ring said part of the Danish funds would be used to hire staff to help with the day-to-day running of the site, enabling an expansion of services, including the creation of a series of artist profiles, focusing initially on younger, less well-known artists.

The new site is aimed to create a resource of interest to collectors, curators, researchers, museums, galleries and other artists.

Hanoigrapewine.com was the first free web page in Vietnam to provide art lovers up-to-date information on contemporary art events.
