Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on November 12, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Peter Lysholt Hansen said this is the first time the Embassy of Denmark has organized an event on this scale combining seriousness, fun and culture. A number of seminars, performances and competitions will be held during the week.
Danish artists, sportsmen, experts and senior officials will attend the event in Vietnam to share their thoughts and ideas on culture, sports, as well as energy and environmental issues with Vietnamese colleagues and the public.
A variety of Danish artists representing the best of the Danish art scene provided the Vietnamese public with a chance to experience break dance, modern dance and Danish films on VTV6 and in cinema. Danish badminton players played friendly matches with Vietnamese people on the streets, and a unique Vietnamese modern dance competition was organized under the Vietnam-Denmark Cultural Exchange and Development Fund.
The Embassy also held a whole day seminar on November 13 to share Denmark’s experience with Vietnamese experts and present the Danish strongholds on renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, environmental monitoring and management, pollution control, and waste treatment.
The “Denmark at its Best” week focused on contact and dialogue with the general public in Vietnam, and continues the positive development of more than 35 years of diplomatic relations and fruitful cooperation between Denmark and Vietnam.
