The article “Day to day among the Viet Cong” by Richard C Padock introduced the life of doctor Dang Thuy Tram and the 35-year journal of her diary.

He quoted some outstanding sections in her diary, considering them is an emotional account of sacrifice, love and bloodshed

After the publication of the diary, Dang Thuy Tram’s family received thousands of phone calls and letters from readers to share their sympathy with Thuy Tram’s sacrifice.

Writer Padock said that a translation copy of the diary will be published in the US sometime next year.
