Dak Lak is the first province in the Central Highlands to launch the festival after two years of receiving UNESCO’s recognition of Central Highland Gong Culture as an oral and intangible heritage of humanity.
The festival aims to honour the values of the Central Highland Gong Culture and to call on the community to preserve and develop the cultural values of ethnic minority people in the Central Highlands. On the other hand, the festival will provide a better chance for visitors to better understand Party and State incentive policies towards the Central Highland community. Tourism enterprises to introduce new products with the aim of developing the Central Highlands tourism industry show great potential, said Chairman of the Dak Lak provincial People’s Committee Lu Ngoc Cu.
The festival will cost around VND15 billion funded by a number of companies such as Dak Lak Rubber Company, Ban Don Ecological Tourism Company, Tan Hoang Thang Joint Stock Company and MC9 Media Company.
During the festival, the 2007 Central Highland Fair and Exhibition will be held with the participation of more than 600 pavilions from domestic and foreign businesses.
