The coffee culture week will be held in Hanoi from November 29 to December 2 and in Ho Chi Minh City from December 13-16, featuring a wide range of activities imbued with cultural characteristics of the coffee region.

Ly Thanh Tung, director of the Dak Lak provincial Department of Tourism and Trade and vice head of the organising board, said the week will focus on cultural activities such as a rock gala night performed by singers from the Central Highlands. Of special notes, two gong groups from E’De and M’Nong ethnic groups will arrive in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to perform typical works of ethnic groups in the region.

During the week, visitors will have a chance to enjoy coffee at 20 coffee stores decorated like those with famous brand names such as Trung Nguyen coffee and Wifi coffee.

This is the first time Dak Lak promotes its coffee to consumers in big cities.

Coffee culture week 2007 is a follow-up of the 2005 Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival and will be a preparatory step toward the “Coffee Year 2008” in Buon Ma Thuot city.

In Hanoi the coffee tradeshow and expo will be held at the north end of Thong Nhat (Lenin) Park from 9am to 9pm.
