The event began with an exciting drum performance by members of the Vietnam Classical Drama (Tuong) Theatre, followed by performances by artists from the ten provinces: Bac Giang, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, and Phu Tho.

The festival features many attractions such as an introduction to local ethnic cuisines, ethnic costume contests, and traditional sport competitions like tug of war, crossbow shooting, Chinese chess and cock-fighting.
