The Australian Consulate General in HCM City will hold numerous cultural events to mark the 35th anniversary of Vietnamese-Australian diplomatic relations.
A photo exhibition, entitled “Australia-Vietnam: Past and present”, will be held from March 16-23 in the city’s Young People Cultural Centre to feature 60 photographs that captured the important events, including the Australia visit by former Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai.
It will also reflect the close ties between people of the two countries over the past 35 years.
In March and April, the Australian Consulate General will open an Australian section in the Library of Long Xuyen City, southern An Giang province, which is expected to give locals a better understanding of Australia and its people.
The section will have books, cable TV links and Internet-connected computers that offer access to Australia’s major websites.
