Two big artistic performances took place in Ho Chi Minh City and the former imperial city of Hue on January 30 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the General Offensive and Uprising of Mau Than Spring in 1968.

More than 2,000 pupils and students gathered at the National Administrative Institute in Ho Chi Minh City to relive a students and pupils’ artistic gala on January 26, 1968 on the eve of the General Offensive and Uprising.

The programme was also attended by former Vice State President Truong My Hoa, revolutionary veterans, former youth union members and many witnesses of the historic event.

The two events were televised live in an interactive programme from both Ho Chi Minh City and Hue city, the two main venues of the General Offensive and Uprising in 1968.
Highlights of the performance, called “Spring heroic composition”, were songs extolling patriotism and combative spirit in those past days and stories told by the very people who witnessed the historical moments of the 1968 general offensive and uprising.
