The book, entitled ‘Ho Chi Minh the patriot, 60 years of revolutionary struggle’, was unveiled at the 2011 Havana international book fair on February 16.
Addressing the ceremony, Isabel Allende summed up the content of the book on President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people’s heroic struggle against French colonialism and American imperialism under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The book was completed in 2010 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cuba-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the 80th birthday of the Vietnamese Communist Party, said Julio Garcia Oliveras, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam from 1966-1969.
The former diplomat affirmed the book shows the love for President Ho Chi Minh, a highly patriotic revolutionary.
The 250-page book includes many black-and-white photos capturing important moments of Ho Chi Minh at the 1920 Tours Congress of the French Social Party, at Ba Dinh square in 1945, and during the Vietnam visit by the Cuban senior delegation headed by Raul Castro in 1966.
