Cookin' Nanta, a world-known troupe from the Republic of Korea (RoK), has returned to Vietnam to present two shows in Hanoi and HCM City with the aim of celebrating APEC Vietnam 2006 and increasing cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The troupe, who first performed in Vietnam in 2004, will help Vietnamese people further understand the unique features of Korean culture.
Nanta is a non-verbal performance of reckless rhythms that dramatise customary Korean percussion in a strikingly comic stage show. Integrating uniquely Korean traditional tempos with a western performance style, Nanta storms onto the stage in a huge kitchen, where four capricious cooks prepare a wedding banquet.
The performances are being co-organised by the Korean Foundation, the RoK Embassy in Hanoi, and the RoK Consultate in HCM City.
