A conference was held in the Central Highlands city of Da Lat on November 1 to discuss measures to compile and revise curricula and textbooks for teaching nine major ethnic minority languages in the Central Highlands.

Participants shared experiences in teaching as well as compiling textbooks and dictionaries. They also selected four more ethnic languages in the region for this work in 2007.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Training, the conference helped improve the working ability of textbook and dictionary compilers and State managers in localities inhabited by a large population of ethnic minority people to raise training effectiveness.

Eight ethnic minority languages have been taught at primary and secondary boarding schools for ethnic students in 30 provinces and cities so far.
