This information was confirmed by Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Ngo Le Bang with the media recently, saying that Chung’s decision was due to his failure to get a certificate B in accordance with regulations of the Asia Football Confederation (AFC).
Chung, who has just returned home from a long training course in Europe, said that he cannot train the team due to his busy schedule. After completing his upcoming course, he will coach Vietnam’s U23 squad to participate in the Southeast Asian Games in 2013 (the 27th SEA Games).
The VFF official said that coach Lu Dinh Tuan will take over Chung’s position to lead the U22 squad for the Asian qualifiers in Myanmar from June 22 to July 9.
The team will convene in Hanoi on June 5 in preparation for the event, in which Vietnam will play in Group G against the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan (China), and host Myanmar.
