The popular Indian dance troupe Odissi will give a performance in Hanoi on June 4 during their visit to Vietnam to appear at the 2010 Hue Festival.
The Indian dancers will dedicate six traditional dances to the Vietnamese audience including the Shiv Tandava-Jata Tabi, Abhinaya-Patha Chhari de mu jibi, Waves, Dashavatar, Mokshya and Basanti Bhubano Mohini.
The Odissi dance is one of the eight classical forms of dance in India. It is distinguishable from others by the emphasis it places upon the tribhangi (or three part break), the independent movement of the head, chest and pelvis and the basic square stance known as the chauka.
