A classical concert will be performed by American and Vietnamese musicians at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi on the night of August 22.

Pianist Anne Chamberlain, violinist Ngo Hoang Linh and cellist Nguyen Hong Anh, will play pieces by Beethoven and Anton Arensky.

They will perform Beethoven’s Archduka, more commonly known as the ‘Archduke Trio’ because it is dedicated to Beethoven’s patron, Archduke Rudolph.

Beethoven in B flat, Opus 97, was considered one of his finest works. The critics described the Archduka as one of the most popular piano trio’s of the late classical period, which finally elevated the violin and cello to a status equal to that of the piano.

Piano Trio No1 in D minor, Opus 32, composed by Russian Anton Arensky in 1894, will also be performed.

The concert will begin on August 22 at 8pm at 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi. Entrance is free.
