The Thang Long Royal Citadel is one of 39 heritage sites which are being considered for UNESCO’s list of World Heritage sites at the 34th session of the World Heritage Committee in Brazil from July 25 to August 3.

The World Heritage Committee will also consider the conservation of 147 properties including 31 in danger and 36 which are threatened by a variety of problem such as pollution, urban development, wars, natural disasters, and tourism exploitation.

So far, UNESCO has recognized 890 sites in the world including 689 cultural, 176 natural and 25 mixed heritage sites in 148 nations.
