The Hoa cultural festival has helped the public and the Hoa (Chinese-Vietnamese) community better understand the land and the people of Vietnam and made the Hoa community proud of their work and contributions to national development in relations with other ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Thanh Tai, head of the festival organising board, made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the Hoa Cultural Festival in HCM City on March 4.

The festival drew the participation of more than 200,000 Vietnamese and foreign visitors. Cultural activities held during the festival included 19 art programmes with 200 Hoa songs and dances plus 19 fashion shows introducing more than 300 traditional costumes of Hoa people. The Hoa community's traditional festivals were featured by unicorn, lion and dragon dances and other traditional games.
