The Vietnamese Embassy in China held a ceremony on June 1 to receive more than 30 precious photographs of Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh from Chinese professor Wenzhang at the Beijing Foreign Language College.
The photos vividly depict the ideology and good morality of President Ho Chi Minh as well as his close relationships with Chinese leaders and people, said Professor Wenzhang, who worked in Vietnam from 1950 to 1955 as an interpreter and from 1956 to 1967 as a diplomat at the Chinese embassy in Hanoi.
The man, now aged 85, showed his special attachment to the photos, which he affectionately called “his family’s precious asset”. “I will miss Uncle Ho very much,” he said.
Among the photos is a portrait of the late president that was presented by Ho Chi Minh to Professor Wenzhang when the latter was about to leave Vietnam for China in 1959.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to China Tran Van Luat highly appreciated the donation by Professor Wenzhang, which he said showed the professor’s noble feelings towards President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese people.
