The gala, which will begin at 5pm in the 3,000-seat hall, is organised annually by Thanh Nien (Young People) daily newspaper to raise funds for the newspaper’s Nguyen Thai Binh Scholarship programme for poor students.

Vietnamese pop stars, including My Tam, Phuong Thanh, My Linh, Dam Vinh Hung and Quang Dung, will perform in the programme together with overseas Vietnamese singers Tuan Ngoc and Huong Lan.

A group of more than 40 young vocalists and dancers will also take part in the two-night show which will feature Vietnam’s traditional and modern music.

Meanwhile, local designers Si Hoang, Vo Viet Chung and Thuan Viet will have their work displayed on the catwalk by more than 30 top models from Singapore and Vietnam.
