This information was announced by Nong Quoc Tuan, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union's Central Committee at a press briefing on January 4.

The gala night will include art performances by central highlands' ethnic minorities and a ceremony to commend 50 outstanding individuals and 25 organisations in promoting solidarity, said Mr Tuan, who is also the Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation.

In the coming time, he added, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union will launch programmes to build cultural villages and support 166 disadvantaged communes in the Central Highlands.
