Under the agreement, Canon Vietnam Co. Ltd. will provide financial support to build seven schools in four districts, namely Bac Son (Lang Son), Tran Yen (Yen Bai), Than Uyen (Lai Chau) and Meo Vac (Ha Giang) at an estimated cost of VND2.157 billion.

As part of the company’s charitable activities in 2008 the project aims to help Vietnam build schools in far-flung areas. In 2007, the company handed over schools for teachers and pupils in mountainous Thanh Hoa, Hoa Binh and Tuyen Quang provinces at a total value of VND1.650 billion.

General Director of Canon Vietnam Co. Ltd., Sachio Kageyama, said that apart from providing financial assistance to build schools, his company will launch various charitable activities, such as employing workers with disabilities, helping poor children and taking part in Vietnamese-Japanese cultural  exchange programmes.
