Construction workers discovered an ancient cannon 3m deep under the ground on April 12 when they were preserving and restoring the Dien Hai historical citadel in central Da Nang City.
The cannon is 2.8 m long, with a diameter of 23 cm at its barrel opening and 42 cm at its end.
Four cannonballs and a rusty 0.5m chain were also found.
In 2005, workers unearthed three similar cannons in the same place.
